High powered nickel metal hydride conversion

The PICC25 kit from Plugin Conversions uses the same proven battery chemistry that the Prius already uses: the Ovonics Nickel Metal Hydride cells. Because the battery chemistry is the same, the PICC25 kit entirely replaces the original OEM battery pack with a high powered 6.7 kWhr (4.5 kWhr usable) battery pack. The new battery pack sits in the tire-well of the trunk (where the spare tire is located) and integrates into the OEM fan cooling system.
